Cash awards covering economic losses resulting from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Germany and in most of the other European countries are calculated basically the same way as they are calculated in the United States.

- Property Damage: €500,000
- Economic Losses: €50,000 whereby E.L. are those connected either directly or indirectly to personal injury or property damage. "Pure economic losses".
Mandatory strict-liability coverages:
Personal injury and/or wrongful death: Either a lump sum of €600,000 or annuities of €36,000, respectively
